Story
In 2019 Dais lost her battle with Sarcoma at 23 years old and sadly didn’t get to ring the bloody bell. Six years on & I’ll be running the Great North Run in her memory.
To this day I still reflect on her lessons and take inspiration from her story. I have linked her social media and a news article below.
Daisy was nominated for a pride of Britain award after raising over £150,000 for sarcoma and I’d like to do my part by pledging to raise some money.
Anyone that knows me will know running isn’t something in my wheelhouse so a half marathon is a big challenge & I’ll be starting from a place of never running more than 5km!
I’ll provide some information about the charity and the disease below.
Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community:
£8.80 Could cover the cost of 10 21 minute calls to Sarcoma UK's Support Line
£25 Could fund a Research Associate to work on a Sarcoma UK research project for one hour.
£334 Could fund Sarcoma UK's Support Line for a day.
Thank you for your support.
