South Coast Ultra Challenge 2025 · 6 September 2025 to 7 September 2025 ·

We are a PTA which works to develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with Mayfield School. We engage in fundraising activities, provide facilities and equipment which support the school and advance the learning of the pupils and community who use the school facilities.

Story

We are a group of friends hoping to raise as much money as possible to support Mayfield Special School in Torbay. To achieve this, we are taking on the South West Ultra Challenge, a grueling 100km walk, to raise funds for the refurbishment of the school’s Soft Sensory Room.

Mayfield Special School caters to 265 pupils aged 2 to 19, all with special educational needs and disabilities. The Soft Sensory Room is a crucial facility that provides a safe and engaging environment for these children to explore, develop, and thrive. Unfortunately, the current equipment is worn-out and in need of urgent refurbishment to continue offering this essential support.

By participating in this challenge, we aim to raise funding to support refurbishment of the Soft Sensory Room, equipping it with new specialised resources. This will enable the children to develop key skills such as balance, movement, and gross motor abilities in a fun and safe space.

We invite you to join us in making a difference. Your support will help give these incredible children access to the essential tools they need to overcome challenges and truly thrive.

Thank you for your generosity and encouragement.
