London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.

Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.

On 27 April this year I will be running the London Marathon. I will be doing so to raise money for the My Name’5 Doddie foundation, an amazing charity founded by the great Doddie Weir, whose vision is a world free of Motor Neurone Disease.

Last year, a close friend of our family, James Clarke, sadly died at the age of 44, having lived and suffered with MND. I have therefore seen first-hand the devastation this terrible diagnosis brings to individuals and their families.

James was a truly inspiring man, whose caring character and quick wit uplifted all those around him. True to form, before he died, James threw himself into raising as much money as he could for My Name’5 Doddie and to raise awareness of MND.

Inspired by James who always took on a challenge, I decided last year to do something to challenge myself. I will therefore be running my first marathon in James’ memory and to try and do my bit to raise funds and awareness for a charity that works so hard to fight and find a cure for MND.

Any support at all will be very gratefully received.
