London Marathon for Brathay Trust

Jake Mennell is raising money for Brathay Trust

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Running a marathon is an enormous personal achievement. Our London Marathon charity runners not only complete one of the most famous races in the world, but also raise vital funds to support some of the UK's most vulnerable children and young people.

Story

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon, and after several years of trying, I’m pleased to be taking part in the 2026 event in support of Brathay Trust. This will be my fifth marathon, and I’m really pushing myself to ensure this is the fastest yet while raising funds for a charity whose work I really believe in.

Brathay Trust provides transformational experiences for young people, including outdoor education programmes that help develop important life skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership. Having spent a lot of time outdoors myself—through trail running, fell walking, and family trips in the Lake District—I’ve seen how outdoor experiences can build confidence, resilience, and a sense of opportunity.

I believe that access to such experiences can make a meaningful difference, and I’m proud to support Brathay Trust in helping more young people benefit from these experiences.

About Brathay Trust

Our charitable work is underpinned by enterprising fundraising and our supporters’ commitment. We know that, enthused by the belief in the transformational power of people working together, you can help us make a positive difference. Work with us to transform the lives of young people.

There are so many ways to help and discover the Brathay effect that is at the heart of everything we do.
