Story

As some people might know, we lost our dad October 2021 quite suddenly. We are still battling with understanding and processing it everyday. It still doesn’t feel quite real. I was very lucky at the time, I had close friends and family members I knew I could turn to if I needed anything.

My dad was the person that always gave me belief in my own ability to achieve whatever I wanted to, he made all of my ideas make sense to me and went out of his way to keep me smiling. He would never push me to do anything, only support whatever it was that I was interested in, regardless if he knew anything about it or not. Without having him as a sound board now to guide me through a lot of the things I would turn to him for if I could, I have really come to appreciate the kind acts and wisdom he possessed.

This is my reason for supporting Winston’s Trust. I cannot imagine facing this alone or at a younger age like many people do.

Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face.

Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.
