Story
In October, I will be taking part in the Great South Run in memory of Georgie, a childhood friend of my partner Lydia and her best friend Beccie. Georgie sadly passed away in May 2024 at the young age of 24 to Melanoma Cancer.
Even though I did not know Georgie personally, her story really touched my heart and really put a perspective on life that anything can happen to anyone. In Georgie’s last few months, Beccie, Georgie’s best friend, would always speak so highly of her and how strong she had been through this whole process at a young age. I will also be supporting Beccie who will be running this race also.
Georgie spent her last few months at St Wilfred’s hospice who gave her amazing treatment for her end of life care including the arrangement of her Wedding Day. Please see Georgie’s story, in her own words below.
Being 23 myself, I could not believe what Georgie has gone through and wish no other person to experience the same. Any donation will count.
