Story
I am 28 years old and on the 4th November last year I had an Ischemic stroke which paralysed my entire left side which hospitalised me for 2 weeks which Included constant and Intense physiotherapy and numerous tests and scans. I am now able to walk unaided whereas before I heavily relied on a walking cane and ankle wrap but now after physiotherapy and my own self made training programe I am able to walk and accomplish Intense exercises unaided.
The stroke was caused by an abnormal genetic cholesterol disorder called Lipoprotein(a) where my liver produces a specific, sticky type of cholesterol particle. It acts like a hidden bottleneck In the bloodstream, heavily Increasing the risk of blood clots and arterial blockages from a young age, completely Independent of diet or lifestyle.
I am raising money by taking part In the North Downs 10k Ultra on the 1st of August 2026 for the Stroke Association charity which will help raise funds to help people like myself to get back up and running.
