Story

In May I’m going to be cycling from London to Paris to raise money for Bridge the Gap!

For me this is to honour people I’ve seen lost to battles with mental health and to bring attention to the great things BTG are doing across the country. Ever since seeing Saints lose the FA cup to Arsenal in 2003 when I was 7, I’ve never really been into football… but I see the unifying force that it can have and I truly believe what BTG do is a well-needed force for good.

Bridge the Gap is a footballing community that commits to building relationships, developing leaders, and transforming lives. They bring people together from different backgrounds and walks of life by building multiple footballing communities across the UK.

On Thursday 22nd - Monday 26th May, supporters, players and site leaders of BTG will join together to Cycle 180 miles that cover the journey from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Journeying with players on and off the pitch, they deliver open-access football sessions, small focused groups, 1-1 mentoring, socials, events and Alpha courses aimed at young adults between 18-30's.

Their football communities are a place where players can come into a welcoming environment and find meaningful relationships, where they feel they can open up about life hardships and their mental well-being.

The fundraising from this challenge will help BTG launch 10 new locations across the UK in 2025.

THANK YOU!
