In memory of Arlo Mallen

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Mariposa International, more widely known by the name of its primary support division 'Saying Goodbye' is a leading global charity providing support to anyone affected by baby loss, at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in early years. Over 50,000 people access support from the charity each week.

Story

In April 2026, I will be running the London Marathon in loving memory of our son, Arlo Mallen. All funds raised will be going towards The Mariposa Trust, a charity that provides vital support to families affected by baby loss.

I’m sure you are familiar with our story and how Arlo was born sleeping on 4th October 2021. Arlo would now be 4 years old, and not a day goes by where he is not in our thoughts. His younger brother and sister speak about him all the time! The time we spent with Arlo was incredibly special and we still cherish that day. Despite the overwhelming heartache, our baby was there, in our arms, surrounded by nothing but love and it’s a feeling that will never leave us.

It's time to get the running shoes back on to raise money for the brilliant team at Saying Goodbye. Zoe and Andy have been such a great help for our family and I hope this challenge can help others who are going through similar journeys.

When you lose a baby, it feels like time stands still. You feel isolated and like you are the only person that this is happening to, but sadly around 700 babies are lost each day in the UK. Mariposa International(www.sayinggoodbye.org) are at the forefront of providing services and support 24/7 for anyone affected by baby loss, at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Saying Goodbye continue their vital work and means more than words can say.

This run is for Arlo 🤍
