Hi everyone!
On the 27th April, I’ll be taking on the iconic London Marathon—26.2 miles through the heart of the capital for my second ever marathon!🏅Training started off pretty shaky coming off the back of a foot injury over Christmas but has since picked up speed heading towards April.
Also, anyone who knows me, knows I like to do things a little bit more spicy, so I’ve added an extra challenge to my training plan and therefore I’ll be running at least 5km every single day until Marathon Day in April (and everyday for the rest of the year)! 🏃♂️💪
Why I’m Running
I’m pushing through this challenge to raise money for Notting Hill Genesis, a cause that are raising money for a hardship fund which was put in place to help residents in crisis. The fund helps alleviate hardship and short-term crises, which can be anything from a fridge breaking down to being unable to afford groceries for a family or even energy to heat their home. The hardship fund also helps housing officers pay for community events, wellbeing sessions or tenancy sustainment projects that benefit the residents. The fund has played a vital role in supporting residents affected by the pandemic. In the past two years, NHG have awarded £280,000 to help fund household items, school uniforms and supermarket vouchers to those in need.
