James's fundraiser for Fire Fighters Charity

James Cameron is raising money for Fire Fighters Charity

Cycling with two friends from Bromley to Inverness · 19 April 2026

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

Hi,

We are looking to raise as much money as possible between myself, Tom, Mark and Toby, all Fire Fighters within the London Fire Brigade. The goal will be to cycle from Bromley Fire station to Inverness Castle in Scotland from the 19th of April and finishing on the 24th in Inverness.

We'll have a rest day on the Saturday and then we'll cycle the circumference of Loch Ness as part of the Etape Loch Ness ride, which is 66 Miles long.

We're also doing this to honour our dear friend George Cherry, who many of you know and will also be aware is battling cancer (a Grade 4 Glioblastoma).

George is part of three generations of Fire Fighting, all with the London Fire Brigade, and a much loved character who served 28 years with the LFB.

His last station was E39 Bromley, on the Green Watch and anyone who knows him will vouch that he could make you laugh within seconds of meeting him and always brightened up your day.

After speaking with his family the decision was made that the fund raising should go to the Fire Fighters Charity as the work they do is so invaluable to all of us, up and down the country.

Please donate what you can, however big or small, the four of us thank you in advance for what you can give.

Much Love

James Cameron
