Story
(NOW COMPLETED!!!)
I shot 17 Portsmouth rounds in 6 hours.
In the image gallery, you can find the 4 target faces (300 /300/300/100) if you want to count them .. feel free 😉
Also images of some of my best ends, my best round scorecard (round 11) .. and some sore fingers.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the fundraising, to my supportive clubmates, friends and family.
Special thanks to my wife Aleksandra, to Julie and to my boiiii Chewy for pulling arrows and being present to witness it all.
I hope to shoot 1000 arrows, not over the course of the month, (as suggested) but in 1 DAY!!! (weather permitting)
I intend to shoot 16 Portsmouth rounds, in sets of 4, (240 arrows per set) and a few stragglers to reach the total.
I "think" I can do 4 rounds in 2 hours, so I'll need 8/9 hours to complete the 1000 arrows if my body can withstand the rigour.
It will surely be an extremely arduous challenge, but i hope it will prove my conviction in contributing to this, very valuable charity.
Archery is one of the most inclusive sports. Success depends on focus, control and confidence, not strength or speed. People of different ages and abilities can train and compete together.
For many disabled people, the barrier is not talent or determination.
It is access. The Access Archery Fund removes those barriers. Delivered by Archery GB in partnership with the Fletchers’ Trust, it provides practical, long-term support to help disabled people take part in archery across the UK.
Your donation funds adaptive equipment, accessible facilities, inclusive coaching and local opportunities to try archery for the first time. It helps clubs welcome disabled archers safely, confidently and sustainably.
The impact goes far beyond sport. Archery builds confidence, and independence. . It creates community and belonging. Quite simply, your support ensures that disabled people are not excluded from archery. https://archerygb.org/get-involved/disabled-archery/access-archery-fund
