Story

This May I'm running my first ever half-marathon (and indeed the farthest I've ever run doing anything...) in support of Refuge!

Refuge is one of the UK's leading feminist NGOs, focussed on ending domestic abuse against women and children. They both provide frontline support services for victims/survivors and campaign for policy change to prevent abuse in the first place. In their own words:

One woman in four will experience domestic abuse at some point in her lifetime and on average two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse and runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women escaping abuse.

And there's more information about their great work here: https://refuge.org.uk/

Many people know me as a somewhat annoying male feminist, so if you'd like to make me even more annoying then please consider donating! (And if you're in Hackney in 18 May, it looks to be a good day out for all.)
