My name is James Bastin, I’m 38 years young. I have lived with an acquired brain injury since the young age of 19.

This year I will be taking on the famous 3 peak challenge and completing this over 7 days.

First, we travel to Scotland to complete Ben Nevis with two of my support workers, Aaron and Holly. Ben Nevis will take between 7-8 hours up to the summit and back down.

Next, we head to Scarfel Pike in beautiful Lake District. This section of the challenge will take between 5-6 hours to complete.

On completing of the first two mountains, I return home to attend my brother’s wedding. The final leg of the challenge takes place in Wales summiting Mount Snowdon on my 39th Birthday. This can take anything from 4-7 hours to complete.

This year, I am raising money for The Silverlining Charity. A charity supporting people after brain injury.

About the Charity

The Silverlining Charity is a group of like-minded people who aim to improve the quality of life of all those affected by brain injury. Our work engages brain injured people with the wider community in such a way which invigorates, motivates and rehabilitates to discover a sense of purpose, social structure and added meaning to their lives.
