Story
It is just over two years since we lost our great friend Marc to cancer. It still doesn’t seem real. Not a day goes by that we individually or as a group don’t think about him and he remains an inspiration to us all. We as a group want to do something each year in memory of Marc and last year, inspired by his original (and better) idea we visited all of the football stadiums in London. This year we are going to be doing something different and are embarking on a 20km walk from Mill Hill, where Marc lived, to Regents Park, visiting places along the way that had meaning to Marc. We know Marc will find it amusing that our original intention was to run this route, but due to bad backs and dodgy knees in the group, we are now walking.
We are doing this walk to raise money for the Royal Marsden, a fantastic charity and one that helped Marc so much.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. They ensure that their nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
