Story

I am transforming lives by running the 2026 London Marathon for WheelPower, a national charity which provides opportunities for disabled people to participate in sports for their rehabilitation, competition and fun.

In April 2025, I lost my dad. For nearly ten years, he was in a wheelchair, but that never stopped him from loving sport. He was a passionate Ipswich Town fan and always believed that sport brought joy (the odd relegation aside), freedom, and connection. In his younger days as well as playing football to a high level, he also ran youth football teams for many years and was proud to give back to the community we lived in.

That’s why I’m running in his honour.

He would have loved the work that WheelPower do and had he been well enough, would have thrived attending the events and activities that they provide. He would also have loved to cheer me on, or more likely tell me to "hurry up".

WheelPower is an incredible charity that helps people with disabilities enjoy sport and physical activity. Their work means so much to me because it reflects the values my Dad lived by. Sport gave him happiness and purpose, and I want others to experience that same feeling.

I’ll be running the London Marathon on 26 April 2026 to raise funds for WheelPower. Every mile I run will be for Dad and for everyone who deserves the chance to enjoy sport, no matter their circumstances.

Please donate whatever you can. Your support will make a real difference to people living with disabilities and help keep my Dad’s love of sport alive through this amazing charity.

Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping me honour my Dad’s memory.
