Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.
This year, I will be taking part in 2 events to raise money for MNDA: Run Leeds Half Marathon (£250), & Great North Run (£425).
My aim for the Leeds Half Marathon is to complete it in the same time as my mum Kay, my sister Jade and my dad Ken, who will be taking part in his power chair.
For the Great North Run, my aim is to complete it in under 2 hours 30.
My dad Ken was diagnosed with PLS, a form of MND, in 2020 after 6 years of undiagnosed symptoms. It is a rapidly progressing neurological disease which attacks the nerves that control movement (motor neurones) so that muscles no longer work. Mental abilities and senses are not usually affected and therefore patients generally remain aware of their deteriorating physical condition. We need to raise awareness. There is no cure.
The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. By sponsoring me your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure, your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Thank you again!
