Story
I'm taking part (again!) in the London Marathon and will be running for the amazing Cure Parkinson's. My beautiful grandmother was sadly diagnosed in 1984 with Parkinson's at the age of 48. Despite everything, she lived a life of dignity and bravery, never complaining and always trying to find the best from a particularly challenging situation before passing away in 2017. Sadly many others still continue to have to survive with the consequences of this terrible disease.
Parkinson's remains the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. Everything Cure Parkinson's do is to move us closer to our goal, of finding new treatments to slow, stop or reverse the progression of this debilitating illness. I have seen the first-hand the incredible work done by all associated with Cure Parkinson's and felt compelled to do my bit again this year. Most interestingly this year, Cure Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Research UK are working on an initiative that could pave the way for innovative neurodegenerative treatments from a cross-disease approach.
Curing Parkinson’s needs world-class collaborative science involving researchers, clinicians, the pharmaceutical industry and, most importantly, supporting those who stoically are living with Parkinson’s. Your donations will lead to the breakthrough we all want to see.
Together we will find a cure for Parkinson's and prevent further suffering for all those affected.
Wish me luck and your donations will help me get over that finish line on 26th April!!!
Jamie xx
