Group Rowathon · 12 October 2024

The Harrogate and District Sea Cadets are part of the wider Sea Cadets national youth charity. Our cadets are aged between 10-17 years. Our primary goal is to empower young individuals by instilling in them resilience, self-belief, and social confidence.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our Harrogate Sea Cadets Unit headquarters, TS Cleopatra, is in need of modernisation and improvement. We are raising funds to revamp our facilities, including the creation of a new engineering workshop, upgraded classrooms, a modern galley, and improved accessible heads (toilet) and shower facilities.

Doing this would not not only contribute to the development of our unit. But would highly beneficial for our cadets in supporting them to achieve their goals and gain new qualifications.

On the 12th of October, cadets, volunteers, and their families will come together for an exciting Rowathon, aiming to row the length of the River Severn—the longest river in Great Britain, stretching 220 miles (354 km)—using rowing machines in 30-minute intervals.
