JC's marathon for CRESS

James Clarke is raising money for CRESS

Marathon · 8 November 2025

CRESS educates and trains displaced people with the knowledge and skills to empower them to establish self-sustaining communities in rural northern Uganda.

Story

About six months ago I thought it would be a great idea to celebrate my birthday this year by running a marathon. I deeply regret this moment of madness, but we are where we are now, so this weekend I will be running 42km around the countryside in Cognac (and perhaps sampling some of the local specialities afterwards...)

I have been supporting CRESS for a number of years now. CRESS works tirelessly to improve the lives of Southern Sudanese displaced from their country by a horrific civil war who now find themselves in refugee camps in Northern Uganda.

The money I hope to raise will go to funding the salaries of Community Project Facilitators who will help grass-root development of agriculture and micro finance support.

Instead of buying me a pint to mark another trip around the sun, please consider making a donation to CRESS.

Thank you very much in advance!
