Story
In march i will be running 172miles in 5days from London to stoke for the charity midlands air ambulance.
As a lot of you will know a few months ago we lost a very close friend Michael Smith (Bruno) who unfortunately had a tragic accident that took him from all our life's way to soon.
The Midlands Air Ambulance acted fast and air lifted Bruno to hospital giving him the best chance of treatment and care. It also gave Bruno’s family time with him.
This charity is self funded & needs all the help it can get.
Bruno was an incredible person, the best friend & the most loving caring person there ever was. I was honoured to be able to call him my friend & it still doesn’t seem real he’s not here. A massive Bruno size hole has been left, one that will never be filled again.
Bruno supported me thru everything I ever did work wise and personal, he always lifted me up when I needed it & was always at the other end of the phone no matter the time. I miss him more than words could ever express.
This challenge is for him in his memory & I hope that everyone who knew him can hopefully support me and help in any way to raise money for this incredible charity.
I will be running between 32/36 miles per day. Running route will be Day 1: from london on Tuesday march 19th to Dunstable(Luton)
Day2: Dunstable to Northampton. Day 3: Northampton to Leicester. Day 4:: Leicester to Derby. Day 5: Derby to Stoke (Nuffield health Gym) sat 23rd march.
Anyone is welcome to come and support me at the finish and Nuffield Gym have kindly agreed that we can all go in the bar area after and raise a glass to Bruno. Also if anyone wants to join me along any of the route for a mile or two then you’re more than welcome to.
This will be the biggest challenge I have ever done, pushing my body to breaking point. This will be a massive physical challenge to get my body going each day when it doesn’t want to & to push thru the pain. It will also be a tough mental challenge as I will be running on my own. I will have Jeff acting as a support team meeting me at certain points along the way with any supplies I need along the way. I would also like to mention the Holidat Inn Express at Northampton, Leicester & Derby who have all kindly donated a hotel room to sleep in for the night.
If you know me or not it really doesn’t matter, if you knew Bruno then we all feel the same pain. Thank you in advance.
This is for Bruno ❤️
