Story

James and Tom will be taking a walk. But not just any walk…we’ll be walking the 42 miles from Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium to Wembley Stadium.

We are raising money for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, we have chosen to raise money for Sands because a close friend of ours Nick and his partner Sarah suffered the tragic loss of their son Oscar who was born stillborn at 29 weeks in July of 2015, Sands supports anyone who has been effected by the loss of a child, during or shortly after birth.

In Nick and Sarah’s case it’s the football team Nick plays for, Sands Utd Kent that has helped them get through their stages of grief, without this outlet and avenue of support we are not sure where Nick would be today.

Baby loss is still a very taboo subject and we hope that by dedicating this walk to Nick, Sarah, and Oscar that we will be doing our bit to break the stigma and to raise awareness of a tragic subject.
