Thames Path Challenge 2024 · 14 September 2024 ·

Twins Trust is the only UK-wide charity working to improve the lives of twins, triplets, and more & their families. We campaign to improve health outcomes; fund clinical research to reduce the risks faced at birth, and provide practical support & information to families, including those in crisis.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If my niece, Cerys, had lived, she would be celebrating her tenth birthday next month. But, sadly, Cerys was stillborn.

We count our blessings that her twin sister, Lea, survived and has blossomed into a healthy, happy, and talented ten-year-old.

She often seems to have been granted a double portion of energy and drive that has allowed her to achieve so much already.

But at every special occasion — birthday, Christmas, Prize-Giving, etc. — there is always a moment’s thought for the twin sister who should be there sharing and doubling the joy.

The Twins Trust has helped my sister and our family overcome the problems caused by the loss of Cerys. (You can read more about these issues by clicking here.)

Which is why I will push my ancient body to walk 28 kilometres (that’s 18 miles in old money) on Saturday, September 14th, as part of the Thames Path Challenge, to raise money for this excellent organisation.
