Story

I’ll be Sleeping Out on Friday 17th November so others don’t have to. Your sponsorship will raise funds for Jersey’s Sanctuary Trust which supports those who may have fallen on hard times and would otherwise be sleeping rough, and with what’s going on in the world at the moment there are more and more people being impacted.

Sanctuary Trust was established in 2011 to provide accommodation to men in crisis. Since the opening in 2011, the charity has expanded, and now offers accommodation to up to 30 men across three properties. The original founders, a group of committed Christians and concerned parishioners in St. Brelade, were troubled by the lack of anywhere in the island that could be identified as a sanctuary for men facing major crises in their lives. The founders wanted to help those whose problems were more than just homelessness, and this remains true today. Sanctuary Trust relies solely on grants, donations from donors and the public.

Just £7 could help fund for one resident to register to a local doctor. £40 would feed one resident for one month at their entry house, Sanctuary Lodge.

At a time when everybody is feeling the pinch, even the smallest donation makes a huge difference to charities like Sanctuary Trust, so please do donate if you can. Thank you.
