Story

This event will take 6 mostly-willing participants, 3 from NEXT and 3 from DIS, on a challenge that they will not be forgetting anytime soon in an effort to raise money for a cause close to our hearts: Cancer Research UK.

Joining from NEXT we have Brett Elliott, Head of Warehouse Loss Prevention; James Doughty, Senior Security Solutions Manager for W&D Loss Prevention; and Josh Gearey, Security Solutions Manager for W&D Loss Prevention.

Joining from DIS we have Matthew Foster, Project Director; Emma Thornton, Co-ordination Project Manager; and James Hall, one of their fantastic Engineers.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: All participants need to raise a minimum of £495 each, with 80% raised before 20th March. Please keep this in mind when choosing who to donate to, the event is a team effort with all donations going to CRUK regardless of who you donate to on the page.

About The Event

This incredible challenge pits us against the spectacular adventure playground of the Lake District National Park.

We will trek to the summit of one of the Lake District’s most iconic peaks, the Old Man of Coniston, before testing ourselves on the off-road mountain bike trails of Grizedale forest, then kayak across iconic Coniston Water.

In the run up to this event, several of us will be taking on some separate challenges to prepare such as summiting Scafell Pike, completing a variety of cycle routes and rowing relentlessly in the gym. Not only do we intend on completing this challenge in its entirety, but we plan on doing a half-decent job of it!

Thank you for taking the time to read about our fundraiser, a double thank you if you were kind enough to donate!
