Story
On October 5th, we're embarking on the biggest cycling challenge of our lives: A journey of over 1400 kilometres from Bristol to Barcelona. We're doing this not just for the personal challenge, but to raise vital funds for St. Peter's Hospice, a charity close to our hearts.
St. Peter's Hospice provides compassionate care and support to local people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
In 2022, Jim's stepfather, Paul, was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. After bravely battling it and even receiving the all-clear in 2023, we received the heart-breaking news in June 2024 that his cancer had returned. Paul passed away less than a month later, on July 4th, 2024. We were incredibly fortunate to spend Paul's last few days at St. Peter's Hospice, and we're eternally grateful for the exceptional care he received and the unwavering support we, as a family, were given.
Paul was an avid cyclist and a member of Thornbury Cycling Club. He introduced me to road cycling during the first Covid lockdown, generously lending me one of his bikes. This challenge is a great way to honour his memory and give back to St. Peter’s Hospice.
Every pedal stroke, every mile we cover, will be in support of St. Peter's Hospice. Your generosity would mean the world to us. Thank you.
