Marathon fundraiser for The Lewy Body Society in memory of Mum

James Dunlop is raising money for The Lewy Body Society
In memory of Belen Dunlop

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

My Mother sadly passed away in November 2025, suffering with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's. She was a fantastic spirit and had a passion for helping others. She gave unconditional love and wise and wonderful guidance to her seven children. Her positive impact on so many lives will never be forgotten.

I'm running the London Marathon and raising money for The Lewy Body Society, which was founded in 2006 to support research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of the disease. They aim to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
