Story
Following the news of the shocking destruction of the world-famous Robin Hood tree, I want to raise one million pounds for the creation of a huge memorial woodland in its honour.
I was utterly dumbfounded when I learnt about this barbaric act of vandalism - a wanton act of cruelty against a tree that has stood watch at Hadrian's Wall for hundreds of years.
We can't allow allow the legacy and our memory of this tree to be tarnished by the villainous act of a depraved mind.
We need to raise as much money as we can so that the Woodland Trust can make this right. The tree can never truly be replaced, but we can plant a forest in its memory for future generations of people and wildlife to enjoy.
Please, help me restore my faith in humanity and give as much as you can, and please share this far and wide so that others might do the same.
To the Woodland Trust: please use this money to buy the biggest plot of land possible, plant a sycamore on a hill in the middle, and surround it with thousands of trees.
