In Surrey alone, there are over 120,000 unpaid carers, which is more than 10% of its population. These unpaid carers selflessly care for their loved ones, often at the expense of their own physical and mental health. They are the glue that holds families together, providing vital care 24/7 without holidays, sick pay, or a break.

Crossroads Care Surrey exists to support these unsung heroes by offering much-needed respite breaks, from companionship visits to end-of-life care. This support not only helps carers recharge but also prevents early hospital admissions and reduces pressure on the NHS, saving the UK economy £132 billion annually.

On May 9th, 2025, I will be participating in "I'm A Director, Get Me Out Of Here! 2025" to raise funds for this important cause. By donating to this campaign with a target of £500, you can help us provide even more respite breaks for Surrey's unpaid carers. Everyone deserves a break…none more so than an unpaid carer.
