Cycle for a Cause: London to Bruges · 4 September 2025
On 6th September, I, along with 9 colleagues from EDF UK, will embark on an incredible journey: cycling from London to Bruges. Over the course of 4 days, we will cover distances of up to 82 miles a day. Having barely used my bike since having children 3 years ago, it's time to dust off the cobwebs and pedal for a purpose!
We are undertaking this challenge to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society, a cause very close to my heart. Alzheimer's is a devastating disease that I have personally witnessed impact my granny, Paula, whose short term memory and ability to interact were gradually diminished until she passed away in 2024.
The Alzheimer's Society is dedicated to ending the devastation caused by dementia. They provide expert support services, conduct groundbreaking research, and lead national campaigns to make dementia a priority across the UK. Their mission is to ensure that everyone living with dementia has access to the right support and the best quality of life for as long as possible.
Dementia is a condition that can affect anyone. In the UK, 1 in 3 people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime, and over half of the population knows someone with the condition. Dementia progressively worsens over time, leading to the loss of memory, independence, and identity.
Your support can make a significant difference. By donating to our cause, you are helping to provide hope and support to those affected by dementia. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a world without dementia.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
