Raising funds for Sarcoma UK

Peking to Paris Motor Challenge · 17 May 2025
Thank you for visiting Jamie and Ed’s page. We are raising funds, in memory of our dear friend Charlie Hunt, for the bone and soft tissue cancer charity Sarcoma UK.
Charlie sadly passed away in August 2023 after a brave fight against Sarcoma - a particularly aggressive but lesser known cancer. His attitude in life, and whilst fighting this terrible disease, was only upbeat and positive. Charlie embraced everything life had to offer and brought a contagious energy to all he did.
With this in mind we are taking part in the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge - a car rally starting on 17th May from the Great Wall of China taking competitors across 14,500km, through 12 countries and finishing on the Champs-Elysees at the end of June.

We are driving a 1972 Lancia Fulvia which we have prepared specifically for the gruelling and unforgiving conditions we expect to encounter, including soft sands of the Gobi desert and rutted roads of Kazakhstan.
Charlie was keen adventurer and in his memory Chazmondo will join us on the trip. Chazmondo has his own seat with four point harness and will be encouraging us when things get tough!
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting us, we can help change this.
Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community:
£8.80 covers the cost of 10 21 minute calls to Sarcoma UK's Support Line.
£25 funds a Research Associate to work on a Sarcoma UK research project for one hour.
£334 funds Sarcoma UK's Support Line for a day.
£9,000 purchases a fume cupboard for a laboratory to allow researchers to safely use chemicals.
We are both extremely grateful for you support. Thank you.
