Story
Throughout my childhood, cancer has sadly been responsible for taking two wonderful people from my family, Rob and Jenny. More recently in 2023, my close friend's dad lost his best friend and Best Man, Charlie Hunt, who had been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Sarcoma 3 years earlier.
Throughout Charlie's inspirational battle, he spent a huge amount of time and effort raising money and awareness for Sarcoma UK, in particular running marathons and hosting events.
Since Charlie passed away, the fundraising energy and efforts to spread awareness, have accelerated - in his memory.
There are numerous events in the calendar for 2025 - as what is known as Team Chazza' races towards its goal to raise £1m to support Sarcoma UK's mission and to help ensure that Charlie's tragic passing saves the lives of many others.
One of these is the the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April - which I am honoured to be running, along with my friend and his family to raise funds for Sarcoma UK.
Sarcoma UK are an amazing charity that provides research into the various types of Sarcoma cancers and support to those who have been diagnosed.
Your donations go much further than you might think in helping the sarcoma community, here are a few examples:
£8.80 Could cover the cost of ten 21 minute long calls to Sarcoma UK's Support Line.
£25 Could fund a Research Associate to work on a Sarcoma UK research project for one hour.
£334 Could fund Sarcoma UK's Support Line for a day.
£9,000 Could purchase a fume cupboard for a laboratory to allow researchers to safely use chemicals.
Every pound is so important and really makes a meaningful difference. So please give generously and support Team Chazza!!
Thank you.
James
