James's fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society

James Hargreaves is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Sahara Desert Trek · 4 November 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

In November, I’ll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life — trekking 100km across the Moroccan Sahara Desert to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer’s and dementia are conditions that have sadly affected my family in recent years, so this challenge is deeply personal to me. During difficult times, Alzheimer’s Society has been a charity that has provided great support, guidance, and assistance, not just through the services they offer, but through the hope and understanding they bring to families facing dementia.

The trek itself will be incredibly demanding, with extreme heat, tough terrain, and long distances across the desert, but knowing the reason behind it will keep me going every step of the way.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help Alzheimer’s Society continue their vital work supporting people living with dementia today, while also funding research and campaigning for a better future.

Thank you so much for your support — it genuinely means the world to me.
