Story

As many of you will know I am still lacing up my boots every Saturday afternoon and taking part in an activity that (at times) resembles football!

I joined NCSF back in 2017 and have been proud to don the famous pink jersey ever since. Pink is the chosen colour of the charity that the club represents, The Nicola Corry Support Foundation. NCSF FC was founded in 2009 by players at the heart of the charity to help raise awareness and has gone from strength to strength ever since. During my time at the club we have had a GFA Cup final appearance, expanded to 2 teams and have celebrated both winning promotions, all whilst raising awareness for this fantastic cause.

The Nicola Corry Support Foundation (NCSF) was originally setup to help Nicola Corry and her family in her fight against a very rare cancer. In 2006, the Fund had grown to support more families that have been affected by Cancer, with the main purpose of providing financial support to families where a parent had cancer.

During COVID-19, the effects of the pandemic on small grassroot charities that operate with a very small group of volunteers became even more of a challenge. An opportunity arose in 2023 to establish a restricted fund with Penny Brohn UK, the trustees felt this was the best way to take Nicola’s legacy into the future. Today, the fund supports one or both parents of a child under the age of 16 years old, where one or both have themselves had a diagnosis of cancer within the last 3 years and where financial assistance is required for them to attend services and support at Penny Brohn UK.

Any contribution to this cause would be appreciated massively and mean a lot to myself and everyone associated with NCSF.
