Cycling around the Isle of Wight · 13 June 2025

School of Hard Knocks runs courses that use sport to tackle issues surrounding unemployment, antisocial behaviour, crime and health. We teach responsibility, motivation, teamwork, respect and discipline - all of which allow individuals to take responsibility for their actions and context.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We are raising money in support of The School of Hard Knocks, the official charity of Havant RFC for the 2024/2025 season.

The challenge is a team bike ride, around the Isle of Wight.... twice!

We'll complete an anti clockwise circuit on day one and reverse the route on day two.

The event will culminate at the evening’s afterparty back on the mainland in Lovedean. There will be live music, bar and food all in the name of raising as much money as possible.

Everyone is invited to the Live Music event on June 14th so

School of Hard Knocks works with young people aged 11 - 16 in secondary schools throughout the UK.

The lived experiences of beneficiaries are varied. Some may be homeless or living in extreme poverty whilst others are victims of exploitation or abuse. There is no defining characteristic of a SOHK participant but they all live in complex and challenging circumstances. The aim of the charity is to enable the young people involved to find purpose and meaning in their lives and to give them the tools they need to cope with their experiences.
