Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2024 · 12 May 2024 ·

The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will take place on Sunday 12 May 2024 and has been inspired by former Leeds Rhinos captain, Kevin Sinfield OBE, and his fundraising challenges in recent years in support of his friend and team mate Rob Burrow.

Story

Motor Neurone Disease and other neurological conditions have affected a large number of my family members.

Treatment for Motor Neurone Disease is currently very limited, and mostly focused on slowing its progression and effects on the body, alleviating symptoms, and to help reduce the impact it has on a person's daily life.

This year I have decided to enter the Leeds Marathon to raise awareness and money for Motor Neurone Disease, and as a chance to remember these family members, and to appreciate how fortunate I am to be able to take part in an event like this.

My family have supported me through my own health issues over the years, and so I wanted to take the opportunity to give something back, while also taking on a new challenge.

Funding from Motor Neurone Disease Association is going towards studying new Therapeutic Treatments, Reasearch into understanding how the disease progresses, and better ways to support people living with Motor Neurone Disease.

I will be extremely grateful for your donations.
