Story

Last year we were blessed by the birth of our son, Archie. Unfortunately, there were complications with his heart which saw him undergo a major surgery at just 9 days old.

This meant myself and my partner spending 5 weeks at the Evelina.

ECHO were absolutley amazing for us while we were going through such a stressful time with emotional and practical support.

Archie will likely be a regular visitor to the Evelina for the foreseeable and ECHO will continue to support not only us, but a huge amount of families going through similar scenarios.

I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon as a chance to provide some support back in the way of donations.

A massive thank you to those who donate - having seen the work ECHO are doing first hand, I can assure it really does go to an amazing cause.

ECHO works with children and young people who receive treatment for heart conditions at Evelina London and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, and their network of local hospitals. They’ll use the grant to continue providing emotional and practical support for families while their child is in hospital and are a crucial support network as their child grows up. This includes sending ECHO Care packs to families full of information about how they can keep in touch with the ECHO community and connect with other families.
