Story
James will be running for Parkinson UK after having prior experience rehabilitating Parkinson’s patients and after a colleague at work has recently been diagnosed. He has been inspired by the amazing resilience people affected by this disease have despite the impacts this cruel disease can have on their lives.
He will also be running with a broken big toe and broken hand (sympathy card!!) which has impaired his ability to do any training at all for the last 5 weeks which will make it even more rewarding I’m sure!! Will be crossing that finish line at all costs.
Parkinson's disease is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years.
As the condition progresses, the symptoms of Parkinson's disease can get worse and it can become increasingly difficult to carry out everyday activities without help.
Many people respond well to treatment and only experience mild to moderate disability, whereas the minority may not respond as well and can, in time, become more severely disabled.
Parkinson's UK (http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/) is the main Parkinson's support and research charity in the UK.
They help people living with the disease and importantly help fund ongoing research to get one
step closer to finding a cure.
