It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

NEXT UP: ABERDOVEY BIKE RIDE

On Friday 20 June I'm taking on the Aberdovey Bike Ride, which is a 104+ mile ride from Wolverhampton to Aberdovey on the west coat of Wales. It will be the furthest I've ever cycled in one day and it is forecast to be 31 degrees! You're sponsorship will be greatly received not just to spur me on but by helping to transform the live of sick kids.

Thank you to everyone that has already sponsored me for the Sahara Trek and Berlin Half Marathon this year.

I'm raising funds in memory of my nephew/godson Lewis who sadly passed away, losing his battle with cancer, aged just 11. In March this year he would have been 30 years old. He really was a wonderful child and he will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

It's also in memory of my wonderful dad taken too soon by cancer. It's been five years already and he is sorely missed. Watching the sunset over the desert as we reach our destination will definitely be emotional.

If you're able to chuck in a few quid it would be greatly appreciated but more so by those who will receive the benefit, facing their own challenges at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Thank you for your support.
