James's fundraiser for Elliott’s army and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Brighton Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
Hi everyone I’ve taken it upon myself to run the Brighton marathon to raise money for two charities. The money I raise will be split between them both.
As most of you know I lost my Sister Louise back in 2002 at the age of 20 to cancer and sadly my Dad back in October 2022. So raising money to support The Royal Marsden Hospital is something very close to myself and family.
In October 2019, Elliott Cantrell, my best friend’s little boy was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), a rare form of cancer. One minute, he was playing with his friends during the summer holidays, and the next, he was being blue-lighted to Addenbrookes Hospital. After 5 months of gruelling treatment, Elliott lost his battle on 21st April 2020.
My close friends set up Elliott's Army, a Special Named Fund at Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) to raise vital money for the hospital. The money will go towards ongoing research into finding a cure for this very rare cancer. So far we have raised over £30,000.
