Story
Starting out at midday on Saturday 20th June, I’ll be taking on MK24 Midsummer RunFest – a 24-hour race in Milton Keynes – in support of Willen Hospice, a local charity that means a lot to me and my family.
They cared for both my Auntie Sandra and my incredible Nan, Irene, when they needed it most, providing specialist care, compassion and support at the end of their lives. It’s a cause that’s very close to home, and one I’m proud to run for knowing how much they rely on donations and fundraising to keep operating.
Willen Hospice supports thousands of local people every year, delivering specialist end-of-life care across Milton Keynes and surrounding areas – from inpatient care to their “Willen at Home” service, helping patients stay comfortable and surrounded by loved ones.
So, why MK24?
MK24 is a simple but brutal challenge: run it your way for 24 hours.
For me, that means pushing myself as far as I possibly can within the time limit.
Each lap is a quarter marathon (6.55 miles), so the question is… how many can I complete in a day?
Last year, I managed 16 laps – 104 miles. This year, I’m aiming to go even further.
If you’re able to contribute – even a small amount – or simply share this, it would mean a lot.
Thank you 💙
