Story
In 2022, my dad was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia. Since then, his condition has progressed, requiring 24-hour care. Watching someone dear decline so dramatically and lose their independence is heart-breaking. Unfortunately, this is a reality many families face daily.
This is why in 2026, a series of events and challenges will be undertaken to raise money for "Brain Research UK". This charity is dedicated to funding pioneering research into neurological conditions, including dementia, Parkinson's disease, and brain tumours. With over £58 million invested in neurological research, Brain Research UK aims to advance scientific understanding and improve the lives of those affected by these conditions.
The events planned for 2026 include:
- The "Original Marathon" (March 2026)
- London Landmarks Half Marathon (April 2026)
- London Marathon (April 26, 2026)
- Edinburgh Marathon (May 2026)
- Parish Walk (June 2026)
- Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with family and friends (July/August 2026)
- Backyard Ultra IOM (October 2026)
Any donation, big or small, to support the work of this amazing charity would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read this post and for your support.
