Story
I'm doing a June Plank Challenge to raise funds supporting people living with dementia. This is in memory of my mum, who spent her final years living with it. I've got a Facebook fundraiser for Alzheimer's Research, and this one is for the Alzheimer’s Society, who help to support people affected by dementia. I know times are hard for a lot of people at the moment, so if you can't spare anything to donate, please share this around instead - and if you can spare anything, any amount helps!
The Plank Challenge is very simple, I do a plank once a day for as long as possible, every day in June. I've been doing it each day, sometimes my time goes up, sometimes it goes down, and it's agony (I'm not a natural Planker). Day 1, I managed 56 seconds... Day 2 was 1 minute and 10 seconds, Day 3 dropped back to 1 minute and 2 seconds, but Day 4 was a new record (for me) of 1 minute and 19 seconds. My entire body shakes the whole time I'm doing the planks, and when I finish I just collapse to the floor for a while, until I can slowly get up again. But it's not called a challenge for nothing. Enjoy my pain!
