Story
For me , Recovery started with Fear and jumping into the unknown guilt and shame of both my cocaine addiction and my ADHD, my family who I let down over the years. I needed to change, but didn't know how. With the correct support and equipment I was able to survive to thrive, so it's only fitting that now I do a skydive.
What makes the difference is having the right support around you. Recovery isn’t something people should have to figure out on their own. With the right people in your corner, things can start to shift.
I use a parachute as a way of talking about it. The mind works best when it’s open, but that’s not just about the person going through it, it’s about everyone around them being open too. Open to understanding, not judging, and listening.
This skydive is a bit of a reminder of all that. It’s about taking a leap, trusting the process, and knowing that with the right support, you’re learning how to land, and we're here to support you. I’ll be jumping on 17th May to raise awareness and support for WithYou in the Scottish Borders. To keep the conversation around recovery open, just like that parachute.
If you’re able to, any donation, big or small, will go towards helping people get the support they need, when they need it. They're learning learning how to land, and we're with you every step of the way.
We are WithYou, every step of the way. 💙
