Olivia’s Heart Journey
At our 20-week scan, our world changed forever. We were told that our baby girl, Olivia Hope had a major heart defect, and that she would need open heart surgery before her first birthday. No words can prepare you for hearing something like that, and from that day on, every scan, every appointment, every milestone was filled with both love and fear.
In March 2025, when she was just 5 months old, our brave Olivia underwent open heart surgery at The Royal Brompton Hospital. Handing her over to the surgeons was the hardest thing we have ever had to do, but our little warrior showed us just how strong she is. Her bravery, and the incredible care she received, gave her a chance at the healthy future she deserves.
Throughout it all, The Brompton Fountain Charity has been by our side. They supported us during long hospital stays, gave us comfort on the toughest days, and helped us feel less alone in a world we never imagined we would be part of. Their kindness has made such a difference to our family.
We want to raise money and awareness so that this amazing charity can continue to help families like ours, facing the same terrifying journey. If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, you’ll be helping to support children with life-threatening heart conditions — and giving their families strength when they need it most.
Thank you for reading Olivia’s story, and for standing with us. 💙
