Story
I am climbing to Mount Everest Base Camp in support of the Steve Prescott Foundation because their work continues to make a real and lasting difference to people living with cancer.
The Steve Prescott Foundation Everest Base Camp trek begins with a heart-racing landing at Lukla, often called the world’s most dangerous airport, before setting off on an extraordinary journey through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m).
Over 16 days, I’ll climb nearly 3,000 metres into thinner air, colder temperatures and biting mountain winds, pushing far beyond my comfort zone, especially as someone who has never trekked before.
Every step will be a challenge, but I’m doing it for a cause that truly matters. If you can, please support me, your donation will help drive life-changing work and keep me going all the way to base camp.
Having previously run the 2024 London Marathon in aid of the Foundation, I have seen first-hand how vital their support is for patients and families when they need it most. This challenge is about pushing myself beyond my comfort zone to raise both funds and awareness, inspired by Steve Prescott’s incredible determination and resilience.
