Story
This October I’ll be running the Manchester Half in memory of my Grandma Cathy who struggled with Alzheimer’s in the later years of her life.
Alzheimer’s is a progressive condition that slowly steals memories, independence, and the ability to carry out everyday tasks. For the person living with it, the world can become confusing and unfamiliar. For families, it brings emotional heartache, as they watch a loved one change and face increasing care needs. The impact reaches far beyond the diagnosis — affecting relationships, daily life, and emotional wellbeing.
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
