In April next year I will be running from Manchester to London

The challenge will begin at the start line of the Manchester marathon on Sunday 18th April and once I cross the finish line, I will immediately head south and begin the journey to London.

Over the following 6 days, I’ll aim to cover the ~215 mile route on foot, before arriving in London ready to complete the challenge by taking on the London Marathon on Sunday 25th April

But this is about more than just running

I am doing it in memory of my sister-in-law, Carys, who we sadly lost to bowel cancer last year at just 37.

I want to take something I love – running and pushing myself physically and mentally, to do something positive in her memory

I will be raising money for Bowel Research UK and just as importantly hope to raise awareness of bowel cancer and the devastating impact these diseases have on people and their families

Every mile, every long day and every moment I inevitably question why I thought this was a good idea will be worth it if we can raise money for vital research and help families have more time together

I will be sharing the training, preparation and challenge itself along the way. If you can spare anything at all, I would be incredibly grateful.
