The sweet man runs the London marathon!
The journey to the London Marathon 2027 on Saturday 24th April is deeply personal and heartfelt. After losing both my mum and dad to cancer, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of compassionate care. My dad was cared for by an incredible hospice team, and though I wasn’t aware of Beaumond House at the time, I am now inspired by the exceptional support they provide to patients and families facing similar battles.
This experience led to the creation of Simply Sweet, a sweet shop in Newark that brought joy to many and allowed us to support local charities like Beaumond House. Even though we have since left the high street, the community’s warm recognition as "the sweet man" continues to bring a smile to my face.
Beaumond House relies heavily on donations, local businesses, and community support to cover their £2.8 million annual costs for providing vital care and support. With only £555,000 coming from commissioned services this year, they need our help more than ever. Every penny raised makes a real difference in delivering their in-patient, wellbeing services, and hospice-at-home care.
As a somewhat lapsed runner returning to serious training for this marathon challenge, I am committed to raising £2,500 for Beaumond House. Your generous donation will help ensure that patients and their families receive the compassionate care they deserve during life’s most difficult moments.
Please join me in supporting this cause by giving what you can. Together we can make a meaningful impact—no contribution is too small. Thank you from me and everyone at Beaumond House for your kindness and generosity.
