We work in prisons & in the community offering practical and emotional support that is non-judgemental and woman centred.

Story

As I approach my 60th year and 10th Marathon run its all a bit harder than before - and slower- and the knees are protesting...my past experiences of running a marathon has always been its doable but really rather bloody tough- but that pendulum is swinging more to the latter this time round. More than one person has asked me the simple question: "Why?" In truth there are numerous answers to that which I may expand in due course but for now I'll start with the main one- because this isn't about me right?!- is because I am running for a great cause: Birth Companions where my good friend Anna Wise is Head of Operations. Birth Companions supports vulnerable pregnant women & new mothers. They work with women facing issues such as homelessness, poor mental health & domestic violence or sexual abuse. They work in prisons & in the community offering practical and emotional support that is non-judgemental and woman centred. I reckon that is a good enough reason even its not the only reason. So I would be very grateful if you would sponsor me- thank you so much. Jim x
